This 3 day training workshop provides essential practical knowledge for emerging leaders. Whether you're a current Board member or a community member who is interested in becoming a Board member (now or in the future), this is the workshop for you!
Foundations of governance, roles and responsibilities of Board members, legal stuff, AGMs & SGMs, rules/constitution, community control, succession planning, governance as leadership, Board and CEO relationship, Board meetings, stories told by finance reports, strategic planning, disagreements and disputes, Board review and evaluation. All Aboriginal people living in Victoria aged 18-25 years are invited to attend this workshop as an individuals or as a representative of an Aboriginal organisation.
There are no prerequisites to nominate for the workshop. All places are fully funded by Aboriginal Victoria.

All participants who complete the 3 day training will receive a certificate of participation and will be eligible for tailored support and accredited training units.
Starts 9am, finishes 5pm
Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea will be provided.
All reasonable travel costs will be reimbursed. Bring any receipts for that day's fuel, taxi or public transport costs and we will organise reimbursements. If you require reimbursement for flights to the training, please contact us before booking your flights.
If you think we should deliver an additional workshop in your region, let us know. We need a minimum of 15 to go ahead with the workshop but can come to you if there is sufficient interest!
